"All that's missing in this paradise is a palm tree!"
We recently moved to Miamisburg from a few towns south and you would think we moved to a different world. My family is made up of a mix of ethnicities, so we get to often see the ugly side of people. We have been here for a little over a year and have had nothing but welcoming arms from day one. It’s a breath of fresh air to know there are still communities that accept and celebrate everyone.
After renting for a year, we decided this was such a great area to live in that we HAD to buy a house. We finally found a place to grow roots! As we were moving into our new home, our neighbor across the street made a “Welcome” sign and hung it in their window for us to see. They understood we were too busy unloading the truck to come over and chat right away, so they came up with a creative way to say hello! Our other neighbor brought over a box of chocolates and a card to welcome us in. It’s all about the small things people can do to show how much they care. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have purchased our first home in such a breathtaking neighborhood. They have always made us feel like we belong with small details like that. I can’t imagine anything better.
My son had to start high school here his senior year and the kids and teachers at his school were extremely welcoming! He made new friends and felt like he had been there all of his life. We are planning his graduation party and now our guest list has expanded from not just his old high school friends but a slew of new ones as well. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anything greater.
The rest of the town is amazingly quaint and embodies a wholesome feeling. They re-opened the little downtown area theater and have just the cutest shops down there, it’s perfect for a spring/summer night walk. It’s truly a blessing to find the missing piece of the puzzle in your life.
What do you think of Miamisburg, OH?
