Hotels are recognizing this, so as an incentive to pay now and travel later, many are offering spectacular discounts. Read on for 14 ways you can save on travel now and visit in the future. San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Considered one of the most romantic cities in the world, the historic colonial city of San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico is famed for its cobblestone streets and baroque architecture. You can soak it all in at the beautifully-appointed Hotel Amparo, located steps away from bustling Mesones Street, in a world all to its own with a secluded, charming patio. The hotel, which once served as the mayor’s private residence, a 300-year old building, opened in January 2019. It has only five guestrooms, a stylish coffee bar, and a rooftop restaurant. With restrictions to international travelers scheduled to be lifted mid-June, Iceland, a country that has recorded barely more than 1,000 cases of coronavirus, is a safer pick for a destination for your next vacation. To make it even safer, steer clear of more populated Reykjavik and head to the southern part of the country. There, you’ll find the 52-room rustic and stylish Hotel Rangá, practically a destination in and of itself; where you can indulge in a number of activities nearby including horseback riding, hiking, or taking a dip in the natural hot springs.

To encourage travelers to return to Iceland, the hotel has launched a “Travel the World in Seven Suites” package, which includes seven nights in one of the hotel’s themed suites, each inspired by a continent (picture African wood masks for the Africa suite and life-sized penguin sculptures in the Antarctica suite.) Book now through July 31 for travel from June 15 through May 31, 2021 for a 30 percent discount (the total cost of the package is $6,729, so travelers get about $2,000 in savings with the discount). Iceland will ease its border restrictions on June 15, and passengers will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport. The island of Barbados in the Eastern Caribbean is ready to welcome visitors to its spectacular beaches. Woods Hole Inn is a charming bed and breakfast that combines historic elegance and modern comforts. This Caribbean archipelago made of 40 coral-filled islands is a short flight from the East Coast of the United States. There are many resorts to book, but any of the Turks & Caicos Collection four all-inclusive properties, all in beautiful beachy areas including Ambergris Cay (a private island 600 miles southeast of Miami) and the popular Grace Bay Beach, are popular choices.
