It offers all of the luxury and pampering you’re looking for on your honeymoon in a site that once was a neoclassical Turkish prison. It’s also just steps away from some of the city’s top landmarks including Sultanahmet Mosque, AKA the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the markets at the Grand Bazaar and Basilica Cistern.
Positano, Amalfi Coast

Granada, Spain
This city in Southern Spain, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, is unique in many ways. While it embraces its Spanish culture, it has strong ties to both Muslim and African heritages. This has much to do with its close proximity to neighboring African countries, but also because Granada was under Muslim control for over 700 years. Today it’s a fairly young city, with a student-driven nightlife, but it has a fair balance between fun and vibrant and calm and quaint. During the fall you can expect fairly mild climates—nothing too cold and, thankfully, nothing too hot like the temperatures in the summer months. You also won’t have to worry about humidity creeping up on you, since the area is quite dry. Rome, Italy
One of the most famous cities in the world, thanks to its rich architectural history featuring some of the oldest ruins still in existence, artistic masterpieces and home of Vatican City, a tourist destination that alone draws a reported 4.2 million tourists each year. There’s plenty for honeymooners to experience in the city’s ancient walls, from the Colosseum, an oval amphitheater built between 70 and 80 CE (which has been left relatively intact!) to the Pantheon, a former Roman temple built between 118 to 128 AD during the reign of Augustus. Some of the more romantic sights include the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous and grandiose fountains in the world, the Villa Borghese, a landscape garden that contains a number of museums and historical attractions and the Pincio Gardens, lush, hilly greenery that was home to many of ancient Rome’s most important families. Stay at Gran Meliá Rome, a hotel that stands on the site of what was once the Villa of Agrippina, the mother of Emperor Nero. It’s centrally located, close to the Tiber river and within walking distance to many of Rome’s most treasured churches, markets and squares.
Edinburgh, Scotland
